Pre-Arrival Email: LTTS Checking In - Your Upcoming Trek

This automated email is sent out to all customers about 7 days before they arrive for pre-trek prompting everyone to get squared away before arriving here at Alice Springs. You can use this article to tick off things early if you want.

**This is a friendly automated email reminder. To avoid any surprises, extra costs or bitter disappointment, we highly recommend you read everything below**

We're checking in to say hello and confirm all is good to go for your upcoming trek and that we are ready! Some friendly reminders: Check Your Booking!

  • Don't make assumptions. Check your booking confirmation. Make sure your dates and trek support services match your assumptions. Know exactly what you booked.
  • Booking confirmations are emailed to you once you make a booking with us. You don't need to confirm a confirmation.
  • Check the dates and times of your transfers. 
  • Remember,  a member of the LTTS field team will check in with you on pre-trek to make sure all is good to go.

  • LTTS Doesn't Work Weekends: If you contact us from the trail on a weekend requesting assistance, the earliest response time will be the following Monday. If you need emergency assistance, call 000. 

Pre and Post Trek Accommodation

  • If you have booked your accommodation and have not yet updated us, please do so at your earliest convenience.
  • Our Approved Accommodation List is here: https://www.treksupport.com.au/approved-accommodation-list
  • Remember, the LTTS bus will not detour to pick your bags up from one hotel to another after your trek.
  • If you need bag storage, book it. The driver will politely refuse to detour for any non-booked bag collection.

  • Don't make assumptions! They most likely will cause disappointment.
  • LTTS is not your caretaker on the trail. You are 100% responsible for yourself out there.
  • If you need extra assistance outside what you booked, it will cost extra, upfront. Plan, prepare.
  • We are not contactable 24/7 while you are on the trail. We don't work weekends. but we will get back to you as soon as we can

Have A Copy Of Your Booking Handy

  • You will need the QR code on your booking in order to board the LTTS Vehicles.
  • Have an electronic or hardcopy of this with you ready when you board our vehicles.
  • If you can't verify who you are, we can't let you board.

  • In 2022 nearly 42% of LTTS Customers arrived at Alice Springs unprepared or making assumptions about what they booked without checking before arriving here. 38% of these customers failed their trek due to injury, unpreparedness, illness or quitting. Avoid being a statistic. Plan - Prepare - Enjoy
  • Approx 62% of LTTS Customers walking the end to end in 2022 said to us that the hike was a lot harder than anticipated.
  • Many Larapinta Trail hikers write subjective and emotive stuff online about their experiences, but they often don't write about the hardships. There likely will be some hardships!
  • Train with the exact equipment and kit you will be hiking the Larapinta Trail with. This, in particular, includes your pack, clothing, stove, socks, footwear, tent and sleeping mat
