Can I leave gear and clothes in my container after I have used them at the food drop?You can leave behind any gear or clothing if you wish but all left over contents in the container are disposed of once collected. If you want to be able to leave gear or clothing behind and have it returned to you, you will need order Gear Retrieval. Gear Retrieval is an extra-add on paid service.

Can I leave Rubbish in my containers after I have used them?Yes! You can only leave rubbish in your containers at Serpentine Gorge, Ellery Creek South or Ormiston Gorge. Use the rubbish facilities at Standley Chasm. The rubbish bags we include in the package are put in the containers when we place them in the storerooms.

Can I pack stove fuel in the containers?Yes. You can also leave any unwanted or used fuel in the containers after you are finished with them. Any fuel that is still usable (whether unused, partially used or half empty) will be donated to a local outdoor education program, school or an organisation such as the Girl Guides or Boy Scouts. All other fuel that needs to be disposed of is taken to the Alice Springs Rubbish Facility and disposed of properly.

Can I use my own containers?No. There are no BYO container options with LTTS. We offer various types of high-quality suitable containers as part of the food drop or trek package.

Garbage Bags: When are they put in the containers?All food drop containers are provided with garbage bags for drops going to Ormiston Gorge, Ellery Creek South or Serpentine Gorge but not Standley Chasm (use rubbish facilities there). The garbage bags are placed in or on the containers when they get dropped off in the storerooms. They are not put in your containers during pre-trek delivery.

How will I know which containers are mine?Your containers are clearly marked with your name. Each container is numbered with the food drop location as well. What are the weight and capacity limits of the containers?Below are the weight restrictions for all LTTS containers: 50lt Containers- 25kg max 100lt Containers- 50kg max You can pack the containers full but make sure they weigh under the max threshold but Don’t overpack your containers. If we can’t close the lids, items will be removed so that we can close them. We'll use our discretion which are items are removed. If we can't lift the containers without breaking the container, we'll reduce the weight by removing items.

What do I do with the containers once I have packed them during pre-trek?When you have packed your containers and they are ready for collection by LTTS, take them back to the same place you collected them from, usually the reception area or storeroom. LTTS will collect the containers after you start your trek or later that same day.

What happens to stuff I leave in my containers after I 've used it on the trail?Any items left in your containers after use are disposed of. If you want items returned to you, consider booking Gear Retrieval. What storerooms does the key open?The key we provide opens Ormiston Gorge, Serpentine Gorge and Ellery Creek South storerooms. To access your container at Standley Chasm you need to ask for your container at the kiosk.

What time are my containers delivered when I get to Alice Springs?The time of the delivery of your containers and other orders will normally be between 3pm-6pm on the pre-trek date you nominated. You will receive an SMS (via your booking mobile number) between 6am-7am on the morning of Pre-Trek advising you when the delivery is scheduled. You do not have to be present when the containers are delivered.

When will my containers be delivered on the trail?Normally all the containers will all go out the same day (or within 24/48 hours) of you starting your trek. In most instances, if you are being dropped off for a E2E, T10 or H6 Trek to Redbank Gorge we will take the first food drop container ( Box 1: Ormiston Gorge) with us during your transfer. The container will be dropped off to Ormiston Gorge on our way back to town ( after you have been dropped off to Redbank Gorge).

Where will my containers be when I collect them at my accommodation?Containers are normally delivered and left in the accommodation reception area or storeroom. You will receive an SMS when the containers are delivered. Just ask the reception staff when you check-in or when you come to collect your containers. Our containers are well marked and branded. Your details will be on the containers too. All of the accommodation venues listed on our Approved Accommodation list are familiar with our container system so they will be able to assist when you check-in or ask about the containers.
